Visitor and Group Guidelines


Freedom Plane National Tour Exhibition Tickets

Advance tickets to the Freedom Plane National Tour are highly recommended. Limited complimentary same-day admission tickets to the Freedom Plane National Tour exhibition will be available at the museum on a first-come, first-served basis.

During the Freedom Plane Exhibition, the museum will be open Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: 

To ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable visit, please note the following guidelines.

  • Food & Drinks: No food or drinks, including water, are permitted inside the exhibition.
  • Bags: Only clear bags (max size: 12″ x 6″ x 12″) are allowed. Non-clear bags, backpacks, luggage, and large purses are prohibited.
  • Personal Items: Wagons, oversized/jogging strollers, and large personal items are not allowed in the exhibition.
  • Animals: No pets or emotional support animals are permitted. Only service animals are allowed.
  • Prohibited Items: No firearms, weapons, or hazardous materials are allowed.
  • Photography & Filming: Flash photography, livestreaming, additional lighting, and selfie sticks are not permitted.   
  • All bags and personal belongings are subject to inspection prior to entry. Thank you for your cooperation.

General admission prices and discounts are only applicable to groups with 9 visitors or less. For groups with 10 visitors or more, please see the group rates

Galleries close at 5 p.m. and entry will not be allowed after 4:30 p.m. Please arrive with enough time to view all exhibitions.

  • Admission is always free for active-duty military personnel and their families, Memorial Day through Labor Day, as part of the Blue Star Museums Initiative.

  • Admission is always free for SNAP EBT participants. Each SNAP EBT card allows up to four people.
  • Miami-Dade Public Library System Museum Pass is not valid for special events.

Directions Using Public Transportation

Follow these links to plan your trip using the Metrorail, Metromover, MetrobusCity of Miami trolley or City of Coral Gables trolley.

Parking

Miami-Dade Cultural Center Garage, 50 NW 2nd Ave

Take the south elevator to the second floor exit. Exit this floor and follow the pathway across a covered, above street level footbridge that leads directly to the Miami-Dade Cultural Plaza. Parking for Museum visitors with validation is a flat rate of $5. Parking may be validated at the Museum’s Visitor Services desk.

Please note: Parking validation is not available from June 20th to July 5th. Visitors are encouraged to plan ahead and allow additional time for parking during these periods.

Garage Information

Museum of Miami is located on the plaza level on the Miami-Dade Cultural Center across from the Miami Dade County Library. There are multiple ways you can enter the plaza level. You can take the stairwell to the plaza level located on Flagler Street across from, a ramp near the corner of Flagler and NW 1st Avenue, or the stairs located on NW 1st street across from the Government Center. 

Please note: The street-level elevator at Government Center leading to the Cultural Plaza is temporarily out of service due to maintenance.
